Was using blockstream green lightning wallet on my android, in the same wallet I had some on-chain sats and some lightning.
Just yesterday, the app tells me my lightning channel has been closed and the sats need to be transferred to on-chain to make them spendable. I clicked through and it triggered a defunding of the channel, the transaction still pending on chain.
But why? Does it mean Blockstream is not reliable for lightning anymore or they are sunsetting this feature?
Also, what would be my best option to use lightning in as much self-sufficient way as possible going forward, but without the technical know how of running a node? CoinOS or Aqua are some candidates I have in mind, anything else that is noob friendly but also self custodial?

It's LN feature was always branded as experimental

Use embedded LND (zeus, blixt) it's pretty much enough for everyone. Other "easier methods" just offload the complexity to cost or reliability

Thanks, I also read there is this new upgraded standard called Bolt12, any android self custodial wallet I can use to get this feature that is also relatively noob friendly?

Sounds like breez wallet to me

I wonder if you ever read my guides.

Great to see you darth, sorry, was a bit miffed since it seemed I just got rug-pulled by Blockstream of all. But yeah, going through some guides. But what do you think about coinos for small time noobs like me as a daily transactional wallet? Can I use it reliably to transfer moderate sums via lightning (like ~5 million Sats)?

Failure to understand today will cost you a fortune tomorrow...
Blockstream didn't rug pulled you, just that you don't know how it works. LN in Blockstream app is using Greenlight implementation. That means the user have ONLY the keys on his device, the whole node infrastructure is on THEIR server.
The channel got closed by a failure of signing or out of sync or simply by a bug in the software. This Blockstream LN is quite new and as far I saw, they do not care too much about, they are focused more on pushing to the ser some bullshit exchange graphs and "buy my jade crap".
I would use Blockstream app ONLY as an experiment testing not as a daily use app.
Read all my guides and learn how to run and manage your own nodes, even that could be on your mobile. Do not rely on custodial accounts even that are attractive to use. Use them also as temporary solution or just a quick move funds option. But don't use it as your main wallet app.
So no, I would not recommend you to use CoinOS. CoinOS is for something else.
Seems that I wrote all those guides for nothing. People will always get fucked.

Thanks for enlightening. Yeah, learning Zeus now.
When people get fucked they come ask you? 🙄

Lightning requires two parties.
Any party can bail at any time.

Depending on how many sats we're talking, if it's just SN Nostr zapping, have you tried ShockWallet?
