Electrum protocol is more lightweight and works better when latency is high.

reply

Its always a privacy VS. bandwidth tradeoff.

I listed here expected sync times: https://bitcoin-safe.org/en/knowledge/compact-block-filters/#what-to-expect-when-syncing

reply

If the wallet was only offline a few days, the CBF sync process is actually faster than the bdk electrum client.

does it have some privacy downgrades? envolves more trust?

No, BIP157/158 block filters are a privacy upgrade. Electrum servers gain access to your wallet's entire transactoon history.

envolves more trust?

Yes, if you are not connecting your wallet to your own node. If you don't run your own node, you don't validate consensus rules. Read more about it here: Why I don’t celebrate Neutrino

reply

humm very clarifying thank you!

reply

It's an upgrade compacted to an electrum servers (which most wallets use), but of course running your own full node is better.

reply
