Are you sure it's not on native land? Might lose land title even if you purchased it at fair market value and you paid all property taxes. All our land are belong to the first nations people, comrade.

women just want a house. . . that's all I want. and I don't look at them bc I already know this is what my man will say. I do look to rent tho, try to live out my dreams that way.

I do think a house is a great asset for a family. Not everything is about price appreciation or opportunity cost. Having a place to set down roots and raise your kids is awesome.
We already have a house. My wife just wants a bigger one. Haha

We love having a house. We don't even have kids, and spend at least half of each year being nomadic.
We just love having our own house that we can return to whenever we just want to spend a while in our own bed again or simply take a lengthy breather between being in foreign locations.
Yes, that comes with opportunity costs, but we're more than happy to foot the bill to afford it.

No I decided that I can double my investment with bitcoin and stocks then owning a house and paying property tax and landlord insurance and HOA fees

Makes sense. Less hassle.

You have veto power? And power of the purse?

In this case I wish you'd be an early adopter with thousands of Bitcoin in a cold storage, so you don't have to stack sat by sat as lots of us do.
Make your fiance happy
reply
Lol! Hence you confess that Bitcoin price still affects you.
reply
Affects my net worth for sure.
reply
I know you're buying cheap sats and doubling down on your Satfolio, right?
reply
I have been buying a lot of sats this week. Did you see my post from last week about selling some of my gold? I set aside some of the proceeds from that to allocate DCA into Bitcoin.
reply
yeah saw that. I'm living in an entire different world these days. I'm not a spendthrift but I had to about 20 million sats on Gold and another 1 million on shopping clothes and other things, and 1 million more for the wedding party arrangements for guests. Had I known it'd come so low, I could have avoided some and now bought more.
still.. still I could just arrange some cash yesterdy to buy 2m sats, another arrangements are also coming tomorrow, only wish my wife shouldn't come to know I'm receiving some fresh cash, haha.

How do you measure net worth?
reply
I know what you are getting at. My net worth in sats in up but my net worth of the buying power of those sats is down.

I want to get to a world where we use a better measuring stick than fiat to measure our life's time/labor.
My dream will never come to fruition until enough of us agree to stop using the old measuring tool, and start using the new one. Obviously, it's really hard to do currently, because there is no market for Real Estate (or anything really) using Sats.
But the reason there are no markets denominated in Sats is because the people with the Sats are still using, and thinking, in dollars (for some wild, and completely illogical reason that I cannot figure out). We have a chicken and egg problem that can/will only be solved by individuals with strong enough will to force a major change.

Mine even don't understand that I'm a Bitcoiner and she today gave me a long list of shopping for my cousin's wedding on 30th this month.
And, and she proclaimed 'I haven't included the gold ring here because you've just spent a lot in brother's marriage and Gold is too expensive atm.' But she alone bought about 2 ounce of gold jwellery just a couple of weeks ago.

LOL so meta

It's ok. She will be happy we don't have to sell the house we have. Yet.

I'm guessing you're tryna tell us to just stack more Bitcoin!
reply
Yes. Stack more.

If value is the thing that stores your sweat equity… shouldn’t we measure in something real?
I’m talking Sats,The atomic unit of Bitcoin. Tiny, incorruptible. Yours forever.
We don’t get a Sats based world until enough people start thinking in Sats. Not converting back to USD. Not pricing in fiat in their heads. Sats first. Always...
