Hey, I recently moved to private city Prรณspera on caribbean island Roatan, to help them scale towards our industry and build first Bitcoin District ๐Ÿ˜Ž
This is an awesome place to visit and organize a team retreat, ๐Ÿš€ workshop week, hackathon, bootcamp - we have a conference dome, coworking space, Bitcoin Center, hackerspace, golf course, hotels, villas, hostel and more.
I am looking for some Bitcoin-oriented traveling initiatives that could be invited to Roatan and I could help arrange their event here.
So far I'm trying to convince:
**What possibly else?
๐Ÿ™ Please give me your suggestions**, I'm zapping min. 100 for each viable answer! or - maybe your team wants to come for teambuilding or one of our events?

Maybe a https://sovereignengineering.io/ fork would be interesting there

Definitely! I spoke to the guys organizing original one in Madeira, they are happy to support it with know-how etc, but personally cannot run it in other place. We need some american hackers like @austin @Car!

Why has the number of merchants in Roatan been DECREASING on BTCmap.org over the past few years???
Or, at the very least, it's been exactly FLAT.
I was told it was a Bitcoin paradise.... but every time I visit, I have a difficult time spending Sats.
What is keeping adoption there from taking off?
Maybe I didn't try hard enough, but when I went to Prospera, it was difficult to get in. Armed guards and such. AmityAge coffee shop was the closest I got. I know I could have tried harder, but based on BTCmap, it looked dry anyway.
Coming from a cruise ship was part of the problem. I had too little time to explore.
