pull down to refresh

Hello, frens! 🤠
How’s everything going on your end? Over here, I just got hit with a surprise:
Deftones has a brand new album out: "private music"! It dropped on August 22nd, so it’s fresh out of the oven. 🥳
Their last record was “Ohms” in 2020. Even though it isn’t my all-time favorite Deftones release, I still enjoyed it. Honestly, a new album was long overdue, but I get it. I think Chino Moreno’s been busy with Crosses †††.
✝️ That project is, for me, the epitome of witchy vibes mixed with some gothic energy. Hard to describe for me, so you really have to give them a listen.
This new Deftones album surprised me because I hadn’t been keeping up with them for a while, and the sound is both refreshing and familiar. You can tell they’ve truly mastered their craft and they are confident and unapologetic about it.
💓 I loved it! It took me back to the style of “Saturday Night Wrist” with a touch of “Around the Fur.”
They’ve honed their sound so well that it echoes some of their previous albums but still feels new. It really feels like a whole experience on its own. Personally, I loved souvenir, departing the body and milk of the madonna.
Would love to hear what you think of the album—or if you’re just skipping it.
Enjoy your weekend, frens đź«€

Nice thanks, I wasn't crazy about the last album so wasn't really planning on giving this a listen but I have decided against it and added it to my regular rotation playlist. should have a good idea of my thoughts in about a month...

Oh, the last album was so much different. I still don’t gravitate towards it as much as previous ones. But this new album really pulled me in from the get go. Let me know what you think about it later 🩷
