There are always some surprises on NFL cut day. Teams playing roster gymnastics. Cutting veterans and trying to sneak guys on to their practice squads.

A few rookies from the 2025 Draft that I was surprised got cut:

Chris Paul Jr. (LB) was a 5th round pick by the Rams. He missed some time in camp due to injury but played all 3 preseason games. Rams LBs are usually garbage and they don't seem to care about the position but I am still surprised they cut him.

Brady Swinson (OLB) was a 5th round pick by the Patriots. Really surprising one here as he was very productive in college and the Patriots are trying to build a core of quality young players. Odd they couldn't find a 53 man spot for him to continue to develop.

Cobee Bryant (CB) was projected as a 5th rounder but some injury concerns pushed him into undrafted free agent territory. He signed with the Falcons. 49ers were high on this guy but they selected Upton Stout (who has looked awesome) instead. I am not sure how healthy he is but a good nickel CB project for a team that can get him on their PS or 53.
