Hey guys, try searching for your favorite people on realsearch.cc? Just launched nostr profile search yesterday, some testing would be really useful.

seems broken atm

yeah, sorry about that, had issues today, it's up now.

Agreed. I discovered that once you follow any of the above, you can just check who they're following and do likewise. Last night I did this and discovered that most major bitcoiners already have a presence.

sorry , where to do this ? I am on branle and unable to find how to check who others are following ...

any tips on how to get started with nostr on linux? what client/implementations to run?
reply
astral.ninja is my fav

Anigma.io has the integrated bitcoin wallet. If astral can integrate the bitcoin wallet, by using alby to manage the private key to reduce the risk of leaking, that would be the killer combination.

astral.ninja is very laggy, long way to go to optimize clients. Pictures avatar don't load, feed takes forever too ... am I the only one ?

any writeups on nostr privacy? who sees my IP address and metadata, the relay operator?
reply
IP: relays, if you don't hide it behind a VPN/tor
Metadata: in Nostr vocabulary they are the user profile (name, about, picture, nip05 email address) and they are public
reply
IP: relays, if you don't hide it behind a VPN/tor
An user can also grab other users IPs using his profile image (it is a remote file)
reply
Oof... Don't use nostr for online gaming in that case or you might have a swat team at your front door
