Akoin → Akon’s crypto project meant to power his futuristic smart city, Akon City, in Senegal.
ACORN (2010) → A proposal for an “Alternative Currency for Oakland Residents and Neighbors.” It was envisioned as an electronic debit card system for local spending, not a physical token.
Acorns → Just an investment service no token, no blockchain, no city.
Three very different projects, all orbiting the same oak/acorn branding growth, community, roots, money.
Makes me wonder: do these “natural” symbols get recycled in finance because they resonate with the idea of slow, steady growth? Or is it just lazy marketing?
