Zap Game: Last Comment Wins (Mostly)
Let’s play a little SN zap game.
Here’s how it works:
Once 24 hours pass without a new comment, the experiment ends and the 3875 sats will be distributed to the last five comments like this:
Last 5 comments (before the silence) get:
1st (most recent): 2,000 sats
2nd last: 1,000 sats
3rd last: 500 sats
4th last: 250 sats
5th last: 125 sats
That’s a total of 3,875 sats ready to be distributed.
Fewer than 5 comments? No problem:
1 comment? It gets 100% of the 3,875 sats
2 comments? Split in a 2:1 ratio → 2,583 and 1,292 sats
3 comments? Split in a 4:2:1 ratio → 2,214, 1,107, 554 sats
4 comments? Split in a 8:4:2:1 ratio → 2067 sats, 1033 sats, 517 sats, 258 sats
5+ comments? The last 5 get 2,000, 1,000, 500, 250, 125 sats (fixed)
So… will you go early and hope for silence, or wait and try to snipe the end?
Once 24 hours pass without a new comment, the clock stops, and sats are sent.
Tick tock… last comment before the silence wins big.
