TLDR: K. Mike Merrill IPOed himself and lets his shareholders vote on decisions about his life.
Sounds like an elaborate plan to separate people from their money and if they are dumb enough to give it to this guy they deserve to lose it. I’ve heard stories that social security numbers are some sort of insurance bonds or stocks which are traded in some sort of market. I don’t really know how true they are but that’s a rabbit hole if any one wants to explore.

I don’t think it’s meant as an investment product, at least when I found out about this like 6 years ago. It’s more of just a fun / interesting thing to do, but some people have pumped money into shares
