@Scoresby awarded me some sats, so why not spread the love?
You have been honing your craft and catalysing your creativity.
When it’s time for you to depart from this earth, which creative work will you like to be remembered by? Pictures to demonstrate your POW are helpful but not necessary.
The best comment as voted by the "top" filter ~24 hours later (24 July) - coinciding with the opening of the Saloon - gets 1000 sats.

In that sense, I don’t have any creative work to leave behind—not for now. I love photography and have even shared some of my photos here, but I won’t be remembered for them.

Well. I'd like to be remembered by whatever it is that I do that provides the most value to people. I'm not yet sure what exactly that is, I've dipped my toe into several disciplines but how much value any of that has provided (or will provide) to the Earth is unclear. Kontext as a character started out as a rapper, example:
... and then into building a business on Bitcoin:
At the same time I've been also sharing my photography and trying to advance the open source movement (manifesto: #883698).
I would also like to become a father, and a good father, at that. I think the creation of other humans is perhaps the pinnacle of creation in general - as they (and their descendants) embody the infinite human potential, stretched out in time, across generations.
reply
Wow you dabble in so many things. Cool beans
Maybe you can also combine some ideas/principles from all these things and create something multidisciplinary that only you are uniquely qualified to create

Yeah, for sure. Being stretched out across multiple disciplines and interests has its downsides, but that's perhaps the one strength of such an approach - being able to create connections, bridges and synergy between fields where there was none. I've been trying to do that to an extent as well (i.e. talking about economics in the piece about yoga, trying to combine for-profit and non-profit initiatives on Satoshee, etc.)

I think we live life in similar ways. I try to combine learnings from unexpected perspectives too.
Thanks for sharing

creation of other humans is perhaps the pinnacle of creation in general
agreed.
do you think creative acts in general might be a proxy for this type of creation?
reply
Yeah I think so. I feel like most of our creative pursuits stem from the (unconscious) desire to become immortal in some sense.

A few years ago I would have said music. Now I'm not so sure...
It's a deep question that I haven't spent much time thinking about.
reply
Have you fallen out of favour with music or are you on a creative hiatus?
I do a lot of writing n I don’t think it is worth much, but I hope that future generations might come across my Legacy Series on my blog and benefit from my lived experiences

After having kids my music career has been put on hold. Maybe indefinitely...
I'll have to think more about it.
reply
Don’t lose sleep over it. I think your subconscious will tell you if a legacy is something you value

I'm a product designer, a couple of years back (2017) I worked with a company in brazil that sells fruits/vegetables, they wanted to design an ERP for their end-to-end process, but there was an issue, most of the sellers that worked in the market dealing with customers were semi-illiterate, we created an interface that was made mostly of illustrations for example if you are selling a tomato, the image would show a tomato, allowing those employees to use a software without having the need to be able to read! Was super fun and i'm proud of this project till now

Welcome to SN!
I totally agree that visuals help in making people understand. Coincidentally, I need to engage two classes of five-year-olds today and enlighten them about hydroponics farming today. So, yesterday evening, I took my children to the supermarket and bought kang kong (spinach) to help the kids understand better! Haha

And your POW then garnered you more sats! Thanks for sharing

Having one publication that stands the test of time, still being remembered as an important contribution to the field even when I'm gone. That'd be nice.
reply
Thanks for commenting. It made me think if I wanted to rise to the top of my profession and leave behind something that impactful.
As of now, I think I’m the kind who wants to try a little bit of everything. So, sacrificing depth for breadth. I don’t know if this tendency of mine is good or bad

nice bounty idea!
my father decided to start a family, and i became the reault of this. he is also a business man, which will be another part of his legacy.
as for myself, i dont expect to have much creative legacy from my job (or carry on his business, which was only moderately successful). maybe a family, but that's undecided now.
the best i can do is a creative non-fiction style memoir that recounts the mess, the joys, the greatness of the family i was born into, and much, much more. discovering bitcoin will certainly have to be a plot element. nothing to show for it, at the time of writing.
will post updates on this.

What do you work as?
Are your parents still around? I think writing a memoir will surely warm their hearts unless you air too much of the family’s dirty laundry haha. In any case, it’s good to honour the choices they made & the impact they have had on you
reply
you have a point. i mean they will provide fuel to the characters that allow me to talk about the things I that id like to. ive learned quite a bit about my genealogy in the last few years, which is a big inspiration for this.
What do you work as?
im a private investigator 👀
reply
Wow. Investigating murders or adultery cases?

All of the above.

I don't want to be remembered once I'm dead. (some folks don't taste death I hear) If I am going to be remembered, might as well be now while it might do me some good. People can, for instance, right now, purchase my book(s).
reply
That’s a decidedly healthy attitude. I’m afraid I can’t be so egoless though haha

I could not find it in your bio, nor mentioned in your posts... You can try to advertise and sell your books in the ~AGORA! Cows don't fly and customers don't fell from the sky ;)

I wrote the whole thing here as a stacker exclusive. I'm sure you can find it if you look around. #507279

i hope i'll be remembered for manifesting some of the cypherpunk ideas into the world, bringing more privacy, encryption and free markets in this world of centralized dystopia
reply
Could you elaborate on what you mean by cypherpunk?
reply
Since I worked many times adnd I love my work, I don't like to take pics but I like to write. That would be my third book, Conociendo Bitcoin III, which is my third attempt to reply my friends questions regarding bitcoin-dca style1. I have other two but, since I'm departing from here, I only have one reccomendation and that will be.

Footnotes

  1. I write things that I don't understand, that's why I wrote a book
