Could smart contracts and Bitcoin make banks obsolete?

I was thinking… could we have something like savings, loans, or even financing using just Bitcoin? No banks, no bureaucracy — just BTC making it happen.

Yes, but it will be built on top of Bitcoin. There will also be things like Bitcoin banks. We are already seeing new companies and technologies being built on top of Bitcoin. This makes me excited!
