Those that look most like wolves are the most beautiful

If I saw that in front of me, I’d say it was a wolf. The name of the breed says it all!

asking him first if he's czech or slovak 😂😂😂😂

Aahah! Animals don’t care about borders, geography, or history. Might as well just call it a wolfdog!

when I was a 10 yrs old kid, my grandpa bring home a wolf baby. Was like 2 months old, maybe his mother died or something. We've raise it as a cute dog, together with other dogs we had. Was a real good companion, I really enjoy it walking with him through the woods, for many years. And he was very intelligent and understanding all my words and instructions without any hesitation. And very protective with me. Really loved that wolf. He lived so many years...

But you didn’t notice anything different from a regular dog? Couldn’t it have been one of these? Here in Portugal, the wolf’s a protected species now, but for years farmers used to hunt and kill them. They even had tricks to trap and finish them off. Kinda glad those days are over.

Different? Yeah some small things:
  • eating only meat, meanwhile dogs were eating also regular mixed food
  • yes, they are taller than any other dog. Long legs, strong and fast. And the eyes... wow I love their eyes, are having so deep looking into your soul.
  • sleeping more during the day and being active during the night. I loved long walks during the night with him. And my grandpa was totally cool when he knew that "wolfie" was with me. He knew that nothing bad could happen to me. Was very protective with anything.
  • they change hair 3 times per year, when a regular dog 1-2 times/year
  • same playable as a regular dog, he loved squeaky toys and "hide and seek". We played hide and seek into the woods hours and hours. Really fun. Really smart doggie.
We've tried to breed him with other female dogs but interesting enough the babies didn't survive too much. They died.
