Shoutout to the douche on robosats that took 3 hours to respond with payment info and now hours of waiting for them to release the sats. Why do people have to do this, honestly? if you're doing a trade, have the courtesy to sit there and get it done

IMF claims El Salvador isn’t buying bitcoin despite Bukele’s boasts

The IMF has revealed El Salvador isn’t buying more bitcoin (BTC) despite claims from its BTC office, but rather topping up its holdings with BTC from various other government wallets.
That’s according to a footnote in the IMF’s review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF) that states, “Increases in Bitcoin holdings in the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Fund reflect the consolidation of Bitcoin across various government-owned wallets.”
The IMF’s “Extended Fund Facility” gave El Salvador a $1.4 billion loan and was approved last February. Loan conditions stipulated that El Salvador’s government, run by the tyrannical bitcoin maximalist Nayib Bukele, should wind down its BTC buying operations.

ha-ha! i know the feeling. as a 'perfectionist' (or rather someone with these tendencies) i usually come to a point where i just have to say 'fuck it' and pull the trigger (and then frantically try to make any last edits within the 10 minute window, as i'm doing now!)

I love the 10 minute window, it both allows me to do my 100 edits and stops me from editing too much.

the 10-minute edit window is such a blessing: it is the tough as nails editor we all need, saying, "You're done."

Has anyone done a 'Australian Economics' parody of 'Austrian Economics'?
reply
Forget your gold standard. The true measure of economic stability is the "Stubby Holder Standard." A good, solid stubby holder keeps your beer cold, stable, and valuable. The Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA), with its incessant fiddling with interest rates and its "too much talk, not enough action" approach, is like a bloke who keeps adding ice to your beer when you just want to drink it! Their "reckless ribaldry" with the money supply only leads to economic hangovers.
reply
That sounds fun. @User21000000, what should such a parody include?
reply
not sure is what you are looking for, but worth to check the Australien Government, sometime they talk economics

Third week of transition
  • Two teachers had a word with me because I shouted too loudly at my boisterous class, thus affecting the learning of their peers in the classroom beside me. Oops. Promptly marched my class to the Indoor Sports Hall during the next Sci lesson so that I could teach via a modified dog-and-bone game. I think my creative juices are gonna have to work overtime this term if I have to keep steering this Foundation Science class away from other classes, haha
  • I can conclude that the nice thing about teaching primary school kids is that they have no hang-ups and little defenses about them. Despite shouting at them occasionally, students from both classes came up to me this afternoon, asking why I wasn’t in school earlier and making small talk in general. That’s swell. I would have thought that they would want to dissociate themselves from me.
  • Spent the co-curricular activity filing papers for my Foundation Science class and derived a glorious and instant sense of satisfaction. I wasn’t just going about it mindlessly. I now have a better understanding of their proficiency because I got to know the students who have yet to complete a multitude of worksheets. It isn’t a task that I enjoy doing, but it yields a disproportionate amount of gratification once I cross it off my to-do list.

I think children have a way of knowing that your imposing discipline is good for them, even when you feel you are being harsh.

Quick update from my construction site... the roof story in few gif frames :)
3 tons of ballast on this roof carried with a small 40L bucket (each bucket weight 30kg):
  • 30 buckets of rocks
  • 30 buckets of gravel with dirt
  • 30 buckets of fine dirt for herbs and plants
  • 10 additional buckets for laterals
...damn hard work !

Did you have to do some math for this?
reply
151 sats \ 6 replies \ @DarthCoin 8h
No. Is only an interesting observation about the amount of shit work I did :) I didn't planned that exact amount. It just happened to be.
In fact I didn't made any plans for this building. I do things as I go and my mind and feeling tells me to do it. I do not want any paper plans or math because will not be respected anyways. Every fucking day I have to improvise, adapt and finalize what I have in my mind, with materials I have on site. It's a very interesting way and fun to build. Interesting experiment.
Sometimes I wonder myself how much dirt I move around. Almost all my work until now was just moving dirt around: take it out from the hole I dug up, put it aside, then few days later, put it back (in form of dirt bags or as ballast). Even the beer cans are filled up with the same dirt I dug up, so put it back LOL
But this is the situation, I have to use what I have on site in plenty amount. If I do not use it what am I going to do with that giant pile of dirt ?
I know, it's insane work, insane idea...
reply
Isn't it worth consulting an engineer just to prevent a not-so-likely future problem? Just in case... You wouldn't even need to take him there, just show him some photos and discuss ideas. I imagine not, because I know you always repeat the same old line about the merits of doing everything yourself.

Why people nowadays are so afraid of failures? Why worried if you are confident in your work? FFS failures means learning. I wish I will fail so I will learn more.
reply
Because we're not omniscient and shit happens.
reply
Pretty impressive! Are the rocks on top of the bunker there to help with drainage?
reply
yes. There is also a small inclination to facilitate the drainage, but not too much to wash the dirt too fast.
reminder: this is just the half of the whole roof, is only the bedroom's roof.
