Same as the past few days:
  • OMAD
  • Cold shower
  • Middling activity
I'll try to be more active this weekend.
How did your days go? Are you meeting your ~HealthAndFitness goals?

Woah! I've been working myself up to do jiu jitsu with my boys, but I just know I'm gonna tear something and majorly regret it.
reply
you don't need the boys. if its anything like the place im going, there will be plenty of supportive blokes there.
reply
my boys already do it, I just need to join up. but i agree, the community seems really good.
reply
Awesome! As soon as we move again (or decide not to) I’m going to install a bag.

All goals met:
Went to bed early, and got up early too Bolt score this morning: 43sec. 15 min Stretching (yoga). Early morning walk. Now I'm ready to have my shower, cold, and start my day.
Also, today is Saturday, so I'll be practicing push hands (taichi "wrestling") with my mates in the park.
reply
I loved practicing taichi back in college. Push hands is actually what convinced me to try it because I kept losing to a guy in my wushu class who had been practicing taichi for a while.

We often have other martial artists joining us. It's fun to play and learn from other martial arts, what works and what doesn't, and vice versa. I've touched hands with wushu, mma, boxers, and wing Chung practitioners. I would surely not have a chance against most of them in a fight, but in general, they struggle to adapt to the soft, and almost invisible force of taichi — relax, stick, follow. They just can't relax, and when they try, they collapse like a soft noodle 😅 When you lay your hands on them you can easily feel where the tensions are, where their structure is compromised, and capitalise on it even before they realise it. Again, they are good in their respective material art, but we just train differently.

Was installing doors today at work, so lots of walking around while carrying things (well, doors). I was joking to my apprentice that he should pay me a gym membership for all the resistance training and cardio training. He responded by rolling his eyes and continued to carry another door upstairs.
Today's stats:
  • 100 push ups (2 sets of 50)
  • 3km run at average pace of 5:37/km
  • cold shower
  • 13864 steps
reply
Underappreciated perk of having an apprentice: someone has to listen to your lame jokes.
reply
HUGE perk.

Good day. Got a lot of steps in while doing some work for my contract job. Played some baseball with the kiddos. Did a light kettlebell workout while I was waiting for some pasta to boil.
