People talk about llms "trying" to do this or "intending" that, but isn't it kind of like calling evolution "natural selection"? There never was any intention in the selection, no choice being made. Rather, just the outcome as a result of that particular mix of circumstances. Survival of the fittest: we get the responses that match the circumstances.

she drives into the city to meet her friends. his band is playing a show. she won't tell him she's coming. and she doesn't have any money; it's uncertain how she'll get in. so in group of girls near the door, she decides she'll hang around outside, still able to hear washed tones from muffled amps. suddenly he bursts through the door and runs out. she is the only one he sees. he yells, "hii!" she responds, "hii!" with a sudden crack of energy. he keeps running. the girls say, "isn't that your man?" she's like, yeah ya know he's up to something probably. they realize then the music has ceased from inside. after a few moments, he comes back around from the corner where he had disappeared. he strolls up casually, hangs his arm across her shoulders and whispers, "i just puked"

A simple fix would be to rename it to ~education_and_parenting or something like that.

Second week of transition

I think my years of experience in teaching really paid off. No one explicitly told me about the existence of CHAT records. But owing to my experience with the NLS portal and iTime records at NorthLight and Naval Base respectively, I not only found the CHAT Excel sheet in the Shared folder, but also updated my interactions with about 6-7 students. I have never been so on top of things!
Because of the change in the PSLE curriculum, I find myself teaching my charges how to write an article for a class newsletter. I think my current Primary 5 class possesses good situational awareness. How do I know this? Because after I had used the sentence starter “Did you know that..” when I taught them the introduction, some of them used the exact starter for their second paragraph.
I ‘terrorised’ my Social Studies class because apparently they were so difficult to discipline last semester that they haven’t gotten to the point of tackling their Google Slides for their Performance Task. It’s fun to exhibit wildly unpredictable behaviour to ‘whip them into a mouldable shape’ for teaching and learning. Let’s see how many groups will bother to do their homework this weekend though.
Still missing my former form class from NorthLight. Texted the four soccer boys, chatted for a bit, and cherished how the vibes are still familiar.
