pull down to refresh

All was quiet on the Western Front.
I thought I was alone.
I was ready to strike the Sabalenka Yes sell and crush the No buy as Sabalenka struggled in the third set of her semi-final match with Anisimova. I nearly pulled the trigger when Sabalenka went down 5-3 and Anisimova had serve, but I thought no one is here I can give the number one her due and wait until it is over. A good call at the time as Sabalenka fought back and broke serve. It was looking like the ladies world number one's experience would lead her to victory but shockingly she went down 0-40 in the next game. I again thought to sell but hesitated, she has serve, she can come back and besides there hasn't been a trade on this market in 14 hours, no one is here. Sabalenka fought back to make it 30-40 but that is where her comeback would end. On an incredible cross court winner Anisimova finally got the win with her 4th match point.
As soon as I saw the ball land in I hit sell on all my Sabalenka Yes shares, but what it this? The price has dropped from .52 to .30. I had been sniped. I sold and went to investigate. Out in the dust clouds of the frontier I see @Coinsreporter walking away into the darkness.
Before I could reconcile what had transpired he turned and fired one more shot. A perfect bullseye on Sabalenka NO. Leaving nothing but petty scraps for the vultures.
Well played @Coinsreporter but in the words of the great philosopher Arnold Schwarzenegger
Congratulations. You played yourseof

How many sats he scored?
reply
9k on the NO shares I don't know what his average cost was for the YES shares he sold so I can't tell if he made or lost money on those.
I ended up down around 1600 sats. 3800 in and I got 2200 on my sell.
reply
Not much because, I also bought Sabalenka's 10k shares at 58. Still a profit, don't remember exactly but around 2k sats.

Sabalenka was looking like a slam dunk pick. This was definitely a surprise outcome today.
reply
Not surprising to me tbh, after she lost against Coco Gauf at Rolland Garros. She is good but often over confident. She really underestimated Assinnova who is a class player on grass.
reply
Wait you were busy buying YES shares for others, if I'm not wrong?
As I don't remember who said... Strike first, strike hard count me a disciple of the greatest degen.
I was having similar thoughts about 'All being quiet'.
reply
Yes, I believe I was adding yes shares to others since I didn't have any. I think that's when you bought NO.
reply
I (possibly you also) sold my Yes shares when she was 40-0 and No at the exact time when she made the winning shot. Because you bought Yes shares on others, I saw I was buying at lower price but it turned out that I bought at .91/share No.
TBH, I was also surprised to see the market for Sabalenka dropped this low as it was showing around 35% before I bought.

If other wins I will be still make a profit in this market overall but if Swiatek wins, which is likely, I would be a couple thousand sats in the hole as it stands. I could make that back with a good sell or buy during the final.
reply
I see. If you wanna adjust, I can sell some of my Sabalenka No shares.
However I don't think Swiatek is a likely winner in the final against Asssinova.

Big win. She should be in the top 10.
Crazy she has been pro for 9 years and only 23(almost 24). Haha

She was world no. 2 at juniors. She took a break from Tennis in 2023 for mental health concerns. Had it not been for this, she could already be among top 5s and won a few titles.

I see now Iga Swiatek winning the Wilmbledon.

She is off to a good start in her semifinal match.

Lucky @Coinsreporter. Does he ever sleep?
reply
Luckily I've an eight months' old superangel! I just make sure everyone else in my family can sleep at night.
BTW, I was watching this match live and it was only 9:PM in the evening here.
reply
Yes the baby - that'll keep you up. I hope you're enjoying the parenthood.

She's my first kiddo, so you can understand the excitement and she's super playful, super naughty. Often at nights she wants me to sing for her the nursery rhymes ...like 'Five little monkeys' repetitively and then when I think she's slept she again wakes up.. Evryone in my family used to say I was very naughty as a kid, now they say she's even more...haha
