At least with cancer, their mind is (mostly) unaffected. Serious schizophrenia is a nightmare.

First, they start playing League of Legends. This then turns into an addiction. They start spending money recklessly, letting themselves go physically, and becoming an uncooperative ass. After a while, you discover that they're cheating on you emotionally with another LOL player. Eventually, the addiction turns into schizophrenia and your partner gets cancer from screen exposure.
So, basically, don't let your partner play League of Legends.

As a person who has lost a partner, I can tell you that I can handle decently everything else but something death related. At one point you prefer to know the other is living and happy somewhere else but he still exists on this planet.
