Man, between Wilson and Stone, it's such a loss of two of the great troubled geniuses I grew up listening to. RIP to a legend.

Oh man. This one hurts. I can't say I was a huge Beach Boys fan back when they were popular, but I came to appreciate his genius way later.
Yeah, same here.
I got into them via liking The Beatles as a kid....I had read that Pet Sounds was big inspiration to them and was the basis for Sgt Pepper.
Its really interesting to listen to Pet Sounds in terms of context of the time. While not "psychedelic", Pet Sounds has very introspective, melancholic vibe that was much different from Beach Boys surf-pop.
Its easy to see how The Beatles (just having released Rubber Soul) found Pet Sounds so interesting...
Great Album. Today might not be the day to say it, but I still don't think it comes close to the best of the Beatles, but that's just me.
Yeah, same.
Thanks for posting this. I had no idea.
Funny enough....Sean is a bitcoiner....and buddies with Max & Stacy.

No kidding. I wonder if he orange pilled Brian 😀
RIP.
Was a big fan as a kid. The first concert I ever went to was the Beach Boys. The Bandshell at the Canadian National Exhibition. Maybe I was around 10??? I don't recall exactly when but I do recall the show.
You're a youngin, so Brian probably wasn't in that lineup. He was floating around somewhere else doing Brian things.
Good point. Never thought of that and I appreciate being called a youngin. It's all relative after all.
I can't get enough of this song for some reason. Definitely my favorite:
view on youtu.bePet Sounds is one of my all time favourite albums.
I always find it strange listening to the Beach Boys singing about being these young guys, out cruising around having fun while also knowing they're mostly now very old or dead. kind of makes me worry about dying and the passage of time
Surf’s Up :(
oh noo!
I got to see him play piano, about 10 years ago. I'll never forget it.
