She is coming home from the final surgery today. Been a long road and we'll never really be "done" with this, but this is a big milestone.

The book has been sitting for a while. I find it useful from time to time, so that is enough for me. Too many ideas and too little freetime now. Really grappling with that on a daily basis.

I know having distant family can be tough, enjoy your time with them - as you said, good for the kids to have time together.

I run a node by itself on one Pi. You could run LND if you want to do that too.

On a separate Pi I run PhotoPrism (my photo album), Passky Server (password management), and NextCloud (but don't really use it).

I want to do more, but with limited free time you gotta prioritize.

Hey - Funny you just posted this, I had not checked in here in a while but just happened to logon today and my wife had her final surgery on Monday. She will be in recovery till at least Friday, but she is doing good, did a few laps around the hospital yesterday.

i don't quite follow - is taking out a loan "risking" your family's future, but spending your bitcoin is playing it safe?

you probably have more bitcoin than me, i cannot imagine spending much of it and not passing it down to my kids

I could not say. my feeling is it is too early, unless you have a ton of bitcoin. I would not take out a $100,000 loan against a handful of bitcoin right now, too high risk that there is a significant drop and you lose the bitcoin.

Organizations could setup an X-of-Y mulisig and give one hardware wallet to each person on the Board of Directory, maybe one to a law firm or other 3rd party.

I believe public companies have to hold with a custodian (ie. Coinbase)

Yes, my cholesterol is at 236, which is the "actually good" range, but my doc said maybe try to bring it down, which I know to be incorrect.

I recently tested at 640 Ng/dL. Feeling good about that.

Everything going real good. Been out of surgery for month. Will have 1 or 2 more surgeries, but the big one is over and healing as expected.
