Thanks for always reading my posts
I think from the poster, we can infer that this is the second time this particular flea market has been held. @chungkingexpress posted about the first time in March.
I’m visiting Tokyo this December. Hope to explore this Jiyugaoka flea market then!
Oh yes I’m interested. Pls post again haha
The Latin word sensus means “perceiving”, “feeling” or “sense” with the prefix “con”, meaning “with” or “joint”, although “con” comes from the Latin word contra meaning “against” or “opposite”. For example: pro vs con means “for” vs “against”.
Never knew that con has contradictory meanings! Thank you for making my day haha
Preparing for a job transition and getting fixated with left-field interview questions.
Can you tell me about a time when something went wrong at work?
I have always considered myself to be a collaborative person, so during my work review last year, I was surprised to receive feedback that I am perceived as insular and only choose the work that I want to cooperate with others. I had declined to vet the emcee script for Awards Day even though I was appointed as one of the emcees. I told my Reporting Officer that I found the vetting of the script to be a last-minute request and declined it to protect my time and uphold my priorities. On hindsight, I could have communicated my concerns about the deadline better and offered to review the final version. These days, I’m more proactive in anticipating tasks and delivering drafts in advance to avoid last-minute situations.
I think you will be fired up by Gretchen Rubin’s words as seen below:
Since I post daily on SN, I stacked one more habit on top of it recently: cross-post my writing here on my personal blog every day. I don’t care if it takes a lifetime; I just want to withdraw $150 from Google Adsense at least once. Living by habits that matter to me personally makes me feel powerful.
I also related to your second quote. I suggest you think about where your team is and meet them where they are. For example, I have two students who can’t spell “How are you?” I m not kidding; their memory is that bad. So every time they come to school, I give them my coloured letters and force them to spell out this sentence. There is no shame in getting the basics right!

Indeed. I came here expecting to gain tips on how to include sensory details in my writing haha
Cool! I have been wanting to use Obsidian so as to up my Markdown skills - and this may push me to actually do it.
Oh I agree with you. Which is why I like Japanese culture enough as a whole to marry one of its female specimens haha
I’m Chinese n we r obsessed about making money, so I actually feel that the Japanese prioritise other things over profits. Like ikigai (life purpose). Some Japanese may take over (dying) traditional craftsmanship because the trade has been in their family for generations and they feel a need to keep it alive, never mind that they won’t become rich in the process. Or how some well-established restaurants in Kyoto only accept reservations and refuse to serve foreigners because they want to do right by their regular customers. I think the Japanese practically invented the V4V mentality haha
What has enticed them to sit down and read a bit so far? I’d like to know their existing habits first n see if I can suggest something that works with their preferences.
Btw thank you for your comments. Since the birth of my second child, we have dropped the habit of reading to my first born haha. Your comment made me remember that I have an educator’s account with getepic.com (check it out. It has tons of books there n sometimes even reads aloud selected books to you). So this morning, I plonked my son in front of the laptop n had Epic read aloud a book on elephants to my boy. I hope I will turn it into a weekend routine!
Glad to know that this song made such a huge impact on you as well!
One Voice Children’s Choir makes a great rendition of this song:
I wanted to find out if having Bitcoin is tantamount to one feeling in control of his life. I don’t think articles in this territory must necessarily be technical ones
