Damn racoons getting the word out….
Either sincerely: that their emotions and identity is being transformed into a harmonious whole. Everything is coming together.
Cynically: they are becoming a tired cliche typified by a bubblegum song lyric.
I like the first and hate myself for thinking the second.
Not that covert...
It’s going to be interesting to see if Abu Mohammad al Jolani (the global jihadist) really has become Ahmad Sharaa (Islamist nationalist). He was imprisoned and most likely tortured for his part in Islamic State in Iraq… that can harden a man’s resolve. But he has also witnessed the downfall of the jihadist agenda beloved of Al-Qaeda (and the cost paid by the Taliban in Afghanistan as a consequence) so perhaps a pragmatic side will emerge.
What will the US response be? and will they drop the bounty on his head? I’m sure they would ‘write off’ the causalities among the minorities of embracing the bigger picture goals of a stable Syria (maybe) and a bloody nose for Russia.
The filmmaker Thomas Small has spoken very insightfully about the challenges Syria faces. Worth looking him up.
- didn't want to zap too much to not immediately spoil them. 20 sats should be just enough to give them a taste of SN's sat flow.
I think that’s the very successful policy drug pushers have… a free sample and they come back for more :)
I agree not to spoil them for no reason. Those that want to engage will do well. Sat farmers will grow tired of the slow return and clear off.
Anna Lapwood - she is very talented and well worth listening to if you get a chance. Making organ music relevant again.
Well, Tracy did a couple of courtroom films but I’m not personally a huge fan; ‘Inherit the Wind’ is better than ‘Adam’s Rib’, Judgement at Nuremberg is excellent. For light relief there is the original ‘Father of the Bride’ although I actually prefer the Steve Martin version..
For a good Cooper film try ‘For Whom the Bell Tolls’ or ‘High Noon’. If Mrs Siggy is out you could watch ‘Morocco’… :)
I think he did ‘The Fountainhead’ (based on the Ayn Rand book) but I haven’t seen it and may be mistaken.
Haven’t seen that in a while. A wonderful film which goes so very deep. It’s of its time - not sure the accent helps Tracy in an otherwise great performance - but thoroughly enjoyable and does go for the heart strings.
