I've said it before, but if you say that something is bad when the people you don't like do it, but don't have a problem with it when the people are your side do it, you don't actually think the thing is bad. Applies to gun control (or just to guns, if you approach from the other angle) here, but to any number of other things like doxxing.
Welp, I for one can only remember six months back, so have no idea if there was ever a pattern of crypto exchanges and lenders stopping trading and withdrawals, or if there was any sort of negative outcome as a result.
Shorting seems like one of those games that can just screw anyone. Doesn't matter how sure you are that any asset will go down eventually, if it shoots up in the short term (and there are a million reasons it could), you've got to be able to afford that. And unlike a traditional asset shooting down, where your loss limit is just what you initially laid out, shorting means you have no upper limit to losses.
Saunders is a fantastic short story writer, but I just haven't enjoyed his novels as much. I wanted to like this more than I did.
The three most well-known Epstein associates (and all-but-certainly people who shared in some of his crimes) are Bill Clinton, Prince Andrew, and Donald Trump. That last one pretty much ensures Bondi will not take any action.
For all that he's destined to be a backup, I can't imagine them sending him away yet, nor even desperate teams paying too much for him yet.
It's a tricky situation. How much is a bad team willing to stay bad for another year. I remember all the "Tank for Tua" talk years ago, and there's always the concern that tanking turns out to not be worth it, no matter how good the player.
This isn't just a California thing. It's been going on for ages in all states that have taxes. Sports Illustrated covered it a while back.
The Darnold thing's a bit misleading, since the Seahawks also played in CA during the regular season, and that tax amount is the total he has to pay for the entire year (including his salary, playoff bonuses, and SB bonus).
The discussion of Newsom's handling of that tax revenue, on the other hand, is pretty legit.
Heading to a party in a sec so won't be online much (I try to be social at least two times a year whether I need to or not), but looking forward to the game and the three or four commercials that haven't already aired on YouTube.
One of the most underrated bands of the last couple of decades.
