How is it different from something like bos?
FixedFloat is an exchange. However, if you first swap BTC for XMR, move the XMR to your own wallet, change your IP, and then redeposit the XMR to swap it back, you achieve privacy. However, I'd guess it's more expensive than just coinjoining the BTC.
I truly hope that more stuff like this happens and that a few people get burnt badly.
Only then will the shitcoiners (and some of the Bitcoiners, frankly) understand the importance of privacy to censorship resistance.
Just coinjoin before you use these services. I consider that best practice. That doesn't mean people won't do bad stuff with your coins, but at least you have plausible deniability. And you don't have to trust that the exchange operator doesn't keep logs etc.
There are a bunch of node software options [1], but only 3 have more than 5% market share:
- Geth (almost 70% share)
- OpenEthereum (~25% share) — deprecated/abandoned, no longer receiving updates, but the shitcoiners don't care and keep using it
- Erigon (5-6% share)
Geth and Erigon are both written in Go and share the same EVM code (shitcoin execution engine). That's why they were both vulnerable to the same exploit. Much decentralization.
Mustard wallet was dead last time I checked. (Deprecated v2 Onion backend.)
For BCH there is Electron Cash, which works well.
