Okay signing off here! Thanks for entertaining my first one of these. I'll be over on X if you're looking for me. DMs open.
This thing called "Bitcoin" will cross your desk. Don't ignore it. I know the Wired article in 2014 that was handed to you was dense and hard to understand. Stop everything you're doing and PILE IN!!!
A little of the same but in a heirachy. Key Grip is the top of the people who move lighting stands, cables, stingers, and rigging so that the lighting and electrical departments have all of the power and sources they need to light a set. The Best Boy is the next position below the Key grip who does the same, but more manual. Smaller movies, for example, won't have a best boy... just a Key Grip, and then a team of "grips"
That there are narratives and mandates that have to be met first. your story, your movie, your team, is secondary. There is an agenda. Hollywood is just the advertisement for corporations, good or bad. It's obvious now... but wasn't to me when I started.
I no longer attempt to store my wealth in it. And no longer try to gain more fiat because of it. Bitcoin beats real estate in every conceivable way.
Of course, I just replied to your answer in the most wordy way possible. lol! Not a good example of my book
For hard-core Bitcoiners, maybe nothing. All the same information is there that many now know and have learned from several sources. But one big difference is that I'm a writer FIRST. Meaning, I didn't discover Bitcoin and then decide to write about it. I have been writing my whole life. So I feel (biased of course) that mine is written in a more narrative form than most. I spent a long time fixating and editing literally every syllable so that the information was nutrient dense, but easily readable and visual (to the eyes/ears). So far, it seems to have been a nice portal and entry-point for many women and people completely unaware of economics or computer science or money. Yet I dive into those, as most Bitcoin books do. Originally, I picked up my first Bitcoin book. I couldn't get through the first chapter. I put it down and spent 3 years researching to write my own book. That first book I picked up was like a text book and it wasn't fun to read. Reading should be enjoyable. And too many authors outsource that work to the reader.
It's already happening (just look at Grant Cardone). And I sold a dozen properties and put into Bitcoin too. But I think it will take Wall Street REITS and big R.E. portfolios officially doing it for main street to get it as a strategy.
R.E. Investors (not owners) will reallocate capital into real estate for the obvious reasons - less friction, etc. and higher performance. So that should eventually reduce some of the monetary premium that has gotten out of whack.
And honestly, most R.E. investors don't like real estate. So they can divert their attention where their talents lie rather than solving a problem someone else can (who likes toilets, trash, tenants, and taxes).
The early years of the cryptographers. Period-piece, misfits, coders, there personal stories and how they all crossed paths.
Ironically Hollywood used to be the opposite. It was very based. Gay people, for example had to hide their identity. And now the "gay mafia" largely runs it. lol. I think there will be swings back. It will take the larger corporations who own all of the media to make the moves (which will come from the politicians influencing them). If the new administration can succeed it will swing back.
I think similar to Bitcoin, sometimes it's not about the "best" book or podcast, but the touchpoint for when you were ready to receive something deep and different.
Geez... that's impossible! Let's see... The Natural, E.T., Social Network. Picked a random basket from maybe 20 great ones.
