Thank you @benwehrman for helping us test the new video playback feature in Fountain!

It's still a bit rough round the edges - but keen to get as much feedback as possible - please comment below with your first impressions / thoughts on the ux of switching between audio and video when listening to a podcast.

For anyone that's curious - this is all built on the new rss <podcast:alternateEnclosure> tag which means this kind of seamless video playback should eventually work in all supporting apps - https://podstandards.org/2025/06/28/hls-video-podcast-demo

Yes sorry we don’t have this option right now. It’s been on the list for a while but not too maybe people have asked for it. I’ll make sure we get it out in the 1.2 release which is coming soon. Please email or tag me if you don’t see it there.

One thing we do know to be an issue is that sometimes if the offline library cache gets too big it can affect playback. In 1.1.16 we've introduced a storage manager that lets you view and clear specific offline caches like audio / images / library etc.

Can you try clearing your library cache and see if that resolves the issue?

Either way I'll take the detail you passed on and we'll try our best to replicate it.
