 The door is made up of two wings, each wing is made of solid bronze and weighs 8.5 tons, is 7.6 meters high and 2.3 meters wide.

 And although the wings are extremely heavy, they are so well balanced that they open and close easily by one person.

 It is also one of only two doors in the world with an almost 2000 year old lock that still works.

 The feeling you get when you stand in front of this impressive and old door is indescribable and incredibly moving.

 Roman culture is exceptional and unparalleled with any other culture!

 There is no other country in the world that has collected as much culture, history and beauty as Italy.

In August 1892, two women, Countess Anastasia Kielmannsegg and Princess Pauline von Metternich, resolved a dispute in an unconventional way: with swords in hand and topless.  The reason?  Disagreement over flower arrangements for an upcoming Vienna Musical Theatrical Exhibition.

 The disagreement started as a small argument over floral arrangements, but quickly escalated into a physical confrontation between these two "super socialites" from Austria.  After failed attempts to resolve the issue verbally, they decided to resolve the issue in the most direct way possible: with a sword duel.

 They chose local representatives of the elite to serve as representatives and judges, including Baroness Lubinskaya, a medical expert who suggested that the duelists fight without their top pieces to avoid infection.  The two women agreed, and everyone present was instructed to stand back and turn away as they prepared for the confrontation.

 Although Countess Kielmannsegg was skilled with a sword, Princess Pauline managed to wound her in the nose during the duel.  Blood gushed out, and Pauline immediately rushed to help her opponent, dropping her sword.  Unfortunately, her opponent didn't understand the situation and hit the princess's hand, who screamed in pain.

 As a medical professional, Baroness Lubinskaya provided first aid, and fortunately the injuries were not fatal.  Surprisingly, after receiving help, Pauline and Anastasia hugged, ending the confrontation in an unexpectedly peaceful way.  In the end, Pauline von Metternich was declared the winner of the duel, according to some sources.

 Although shirtless sword duels were nothing new in 1892, this one in particular stood out for involving not only female duelists, but also everyone present.  This type of female one-on-one confrontation is now known as "emancipated dueling", marked by women's decision to fight topless for genuine reasons rather than being displayed to entertain men.

112 years ago, the Titanic arrived at Pier 44 in Southampton, England

In 1918, the world had been at war for four years.  The First World War involved the great powers of Europe, as well as other countries such as the United States, Japan and the Ottoman Empire.  The war caused millions of deaths, destruction and suffering.

 In Russia, the war also provoked a revolution.  In 1917, the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, overthrew Tsar Nicholas II and established a socialist government.  They promised to end Russia's participation in the war, which was unpopular with most Russians.

 To fulfill this promise, the Bolsheviks sent a delegation to negotiate peace with the Central Powers (Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria, and the Ottoman Empire), who were Russia's enemies in the war.  The leader of the delegation was Leon Trotsky, the people's commissar for foreign affairs.

 Negotiations began in December 1917, in the city of Brest-Litovsk, located in present-day Belarus, near the border with Poland.  The Central Powers demanded that Russia cede large territories, such as Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, the Baltic provinces and the Caucasus provinces.  These lands represented a significant part of Russia's population, industry, natural resources and railways.

 Trotsky tried to postpone the negotiations, hoping that a socialist revolution would take place in the Central European countries and change the balance of forces.  He also wanted to consult with Russia's other socialist parties, who were against handing over territories.  However, the Central Powers lost patience and launched a new military offensive against Russia in February 1918.

 Faced with the threat of an invasion, Trotsky decided to declare that Russia was exiting the war, without signing a formal treaty.  He hoped this would be enough to stop the Central Powers, but they continued to advance and occupy more Russian territory.

 Finally, on March 3, 1918, the Bolsheviks were forced to sign the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, which confirmed the demands of the Central Powers.  Russia lost about a third of its population, more than half of its industrial land, almost all of its coal fields and a quarter of its railways.  The treaty also recognized the independence of Finland and Ukraine, which had separated from Russia during the revolution.

 The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was very controversial in Russia, as it was seen as a betrayal of national interests and socialist ideals.  Many Russians felt humiliated and outraged by the loss of territories.  Some political parties, such as the Left Social Revolutionaries, opposed the treaty and rebelled against the Bolsheviks.  The signing of the treaty also gave a motive to the counter-revolutionary movements, known as Whites, who fought against the Bolsheviks in the Russian Civil War, which lasted until 1921.

 The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was annulled by the Armistice of November 11, 1918, which ended the First World War and marked the victory of the Allies (France, Great Britain, the United States and others) over Germany.  By the Treaty of Versailles, signed in 1919, Germany was obliged to return the territories it had gained from Russia through the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk.  The Bolsheviks, who became the leaders of the Soviet Union, attempted to regain power in territories lost during the Russian Civil War, with mixed results.  They were defeated in the wars of independence of the three Baltic countries and the war against Poland, but managed to invade Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine.

 The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was one of the most important events in the history of Russia and Europe in the 20th century.  He showed the consequences of revolution, war and diplomacy in transforming borders, identities and relationships between people.

This house made of wood that is far from civilization is located in New Mexico, United States.
 It is said that in the 70s the owners were an elderly couple, and that they had a dog that was like a son to them.

 After several years of living in the house in peace and quiet, misfortunes began to happen outside the house, they called 911 so much that the operators already considered it a joke.

 The old people always seemed very disturbed, but they said absurd things, like that there were unknown entities hanging around their house, or that paranormal things were happening.

 One day an operator trusted them and called the police who went to investigate and the only thing they found was a dog crying and shaking under the table.

 It is said that this is the story for which John Dilworth was inspired and created the famous series: Courage, the Cowardly Dog".

This painting of a young woman breastfeeding an elderly man in a prison cell was sold for 30 million euros.  The painting may seem perverse, but the story behind it is from historical records.

 The poor man was condemned to "starve to death" for stealing a bundle of bread during the reign of Louis XIV in France.  The woman was his only daughter and the only visitor to his cell.  He was allowed to visit every day, but he was registered in such a way that no food was given.

 When after 4 months the man was still surviving without losing weight, the authorities were perplexed and began to spy on her in the cell and to her complete astonishment they found her breastfeeding her father to the fullest by sharing her baby's milk.  The judges then, upon realizing the woman's compassion and love for her father, forgave the father and released him.

 This piece of history brings into focus how deep a woman's compassion runs in our daily lives that men often ignore.
