The original anarchists 😂
Fuck yea, makes me want to go into the wilderness. Will start with this one in my "reading Darthcoin" at my local meet-up series.
I was going to make a post about this, but since you asked....
I took the toppings off my leftover pizza this morning from the fridge and slapped it in my omelet. Greay foe the holidays. The pizza had Italian sausage and pepperoni, but I imagine the delicious possibilities are quite endless.
Not to romanticize, but I am reminded of L'etranger by Albert Camus, when I read this article. The writer paints the assassin as being somewhat blasé, intellectually curious and having an obsession with the absurdity of a life without "agency."
In Camu's novel, the main character murders and stands on trial unable to account for what he has done. He neither denys nor shows any remorse for his actions. We see in him a character who is devoid of the usual emotive responses we'd expect. Finally, he comes to accept the hand that fate had delt to him, finding comfort in the thought that the universe is quite as indifferent to him as he is to it.
I think the blog locates the pulse of an absurdity similar to what Camus was trying to express in this character study novel.
The difficult to swallow part of this is that I think there is a certain amount of absurdity that each of us accepts, as part of a survival mechanism, when we face the world. If we didn't, and instead let all of the world's injustices penetrate the fibres of our beings, then how could we ever get on with life?
Amazing work! I heard Cubans have trouble getting power these days. How is that affecting adoption patterns? Is keeping phones charged and online a major barrier?
For most of 2024 I was using an iphone 8 since it came out basically. That thing is beast. It still runs pretty well too, but the screen is busted. I use it for some of my lightning wallets. I upgraded this year finally to a samsung a35 5g which I got for a good price. Seems to do what I need it for, and it does feel good to have a phone that is not almost a decade old. I wasn't really aware of "de-googling" until now - i should probably look into doing that.
I always connect via a vpn since I started on the bitcoin journey. Also, I installed a linux os on my old windows machine because I read it was more secure. I am not that tech-y but I like to learn.
Hey Darth, great concept for a post. I'm but a humble noob, but let's see.
I began talking about the destruction fiat causes to my friends, family and students. When somebody 'gets it' then I push a little more and teach them about Bitcoin. I am careful about "Orange pilling, because I think people come to understand bitcoin gradually. I always point initiates to your guides.
I've written content on SN that's mostly conceptual/hermeneutical. I hope it's contributing to Bitcoin. I'm interested in the educational side of things. I think there's lots of work to do there because new technologies are not well understood by most people.
For this reason, I have been very focused on learning so one day I can help others. You have posted great content and really helped me to become more fluent with LN in 2024. My next step is to buy a machine I can run an LN node on (thinking an raspberry pi). I hope I can accomplish that in 2025. Also, I have purchased an asic s9 that I hope to use to heat my living room this winter.
Have a great Winter solstice if you're in the Northern hemisphere. I hope you got to sleep in and enjoy the longest night of the year
