It made me realize our health care system and public health officials are a total joke and completely beholden to big pharma. Before I always assumed that was a conspiracy theory with a little truth to it. I’ve pretty much lost all faith in our healthcare system.
It also made me realize that big pharma basically owns our media too when every other commercial is for some horrible drug that isn’t much better than the condition it is supposed to treat. We’ll never get honest reporting on the actual effects of the COVID vaccines.
Edit: and the other commercials are for horrible food that will make you sick.

This will be huge if the sale actually goes through. I’m not wild about another company buying Chrome though. Setting up a nonprofit to manage it seems like a better choice rather than moving the browser monopoly to another company.

I assume most of this has to do with the fact that they were already processing user data in the form of tab/bookmark/profile syncing and their pocket integration. Some lawyer probably pointed out that they didn’t CYA enough with their original terms of use.
For now I’m sticking with Firefox since they still support manifest v2 and proper ad blockers and I don’t want to contribute to the Chromium based monoculture on the web. If Mozilla really does turn evil I’m not sure what I will switch to.
Edit: I do worry about the future of Firefox if Google is forced by the courts to stop paying for being the default search engine.

The oak computer desk my dad made me. My dad loves woodworking so he also made me a bench for our entryway that doubles as a hat box, folding TV trays, TV stands, and a bed - all oak. So really any of those things I would count as my favorites.
