Blockstream Green wallet and Alby Hub should be on your list to check out.
My attraction to Blockstream Green wallet is it is stupid simple and works on the desktop. Currently supports BTC on-chain and Liquid. I believe Lightning is forth coming once they get Greenlight integrated.
All of the wallet creators get an "F" in creating usable user documentation in my opinion.
Well it got me off the sidelines, but 911 should have done that too. I hope those agencies and individuals are held accountable. I now have absolute 0 trust in main stream media or any governmental agencies. Any corporation who implemented JAB mandates has lost my business. This is why I ditched Windows for Linux. I also lost my respect for professional athletes who stood by silently watching freedom being walked on. Need more be said.
If hardware wallets could be purchased locally at gas station, I'd be more likely to purchase one. Check out some of my articles on Yakihonne.com on how to do this securely on a VM using linux. Every tech savvy person should be able to implement their own cold solution. But for the non-tech savvy person, this is too big of a hurdle.
I've done the same several years ago and it's still in progress. I would load VirtualBox on your Windows host and install Pop!_OS from system76.com. This will give you a similar GUI experience. Also, I carried over using PowerShell on Linux it works well.
I was impressed with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. It has a full blown PowerShell module where one can fully automate any aspect desired. The other big plus is their free-forever service offering.
I had a paid Proton account for nearly six years, then all of a sudden they decided to suspended my account. Of course, the main support option is to use email. After much horsing around I was able to get the account restored. I'm now no longer a paying customer and slowly moving to tuta.com for email services. We really need a decentralized means of using email. Maybe nostr one day will be able to replace centralized email servers.
See this article. It should work on the mac.

They should really list PowerShell along with Perl and Python as an option to use with Linux. PowerShell works quite well in the Linux environment.
Only challenge is how to get the lightning channel setup with the wallet.
There is clearly some secret sauce to making this happen, but it I'm totally stumped.
Missing the "The Creature from Jekyll Island". If one reads this book, they will understand what motivated the creation of Bitcoin.
Ever wonder why we never taught how money actually works in school?
Likely doesn't matter in a self-hosting environment. I been running a pruned Bitcoin node on Oracle Cloud for over a year at ZERO cost.
