Authenticity (my node) routed 1098 BTC in the month of November, and forwarded 185k transactions.
My node has been online for just under 2 years and has grown substantially in the last 90 days from 4B sats (40 BTC) to 8.9B sats (89 BTC). Prior to this period, my routing was closer to 300BTC/month, so this month saw incredible growth in routing volume.
I will not post my APY/Profits here. But my setup is profitable but expensive ($1000/mo hosting fees, excluding human capital)
Observations
-- LNBig changed their fee structure
-- Square (c=/block) deployed Bitcoin and Lightning on their PoS devices
-- Extreme volatility on Bitcoin price
Challenges
-- My node had numerous downtime in the last 14 days as I worked with LND devs to resolve some issues dealing with LND and Postgres
-- Influx of inbound channels required me to reposition my liquidity more intelligently (manually currently)
-- I hired a developer to work with me on publishing an Open Source LND monitoring tool, but unfortunately due to both of us having IRL issues, we were not able to make progress
Future Posts
-- My architecture and costs
-- My TODO list on improvements of my node
-- The number of hours I spend managing my node and infrastructure
-- Requests?

So you are routing something like 42 transactions every 10 minutes? It would be interesting to see how much is lnbig or acinq routing and to see if we are already over block TX capacity in terms of numbers of transactions. Do you have any estimation of total ln transactions rate?
reply
Lnbig is pisting every month on nostr their performance

Indeed. So lnbig is routing ~200 transactions every 10 mins. Is there any stat shared from acinq?

Yes, next time post under a nym not anon. No need to give your node name. Is good enough that you share this valuable information. Anon could be anybody out there so who knows, maybe next day somebody else will pretend to be you... and post about that the node crashed.
Seriously now, anon here have ZERO reputation and almost nobody is taking seriously.

Created an account (the Anon post). This is Authenticity and you can corroborate my post with my Twitter and Reddit posts.

Welcome and congrats on hitting these huge milestones.
Look forward to knowing more about your story and details of your setup.
How long it took for the node to be sustainable, I mean, covering costs?
reply
Ah ok now. No need to give more personal details. We respect privacy. The only thing is that anybody can post as anon, so imagine the confusion when posting about such a particular and serious subject: routing node.
Anon is mostly used to post memes and shitposting. A nym is enough to have some kind of stability and build trust.

Btw: I developed a little tool for such authenticity questions. But nobody was interested. 😁

nostr can be hit or miss. I find I get more engagement on SN

I learned the hard way. :-)

Impressive.

Would be interested to hear about the infrastructure to deliver all that - where's the $1k / month going? What was upfront cost ( resides btc itself?)

Wow, good job! Hope mempool fees stay at or below 1 s/vb. Is your Postgres replicated in real time smoothly? Aren't you scared to host a hot wallet of this size with a third party?

Standalone tool or integration with some existing monitoring system? I am thinking about implementing LND monitoring for Zabbix. I've done in past some for Bitcoin Core / Knots.

So you are getting something around 5-10 sats per tx? Makes sense.

I guess part is due to your 2x in capacity. How would you explain the rest? LN is being used more? You improved your routing skills? The square pos thing?
reply
Amazing capacity. Is this your full time job?
